Avengineers Assemble! Discovery Teams Up with Mark Rober and Jimmy Kimmel In All-New Prank Series

    By: Discovery

Mark Rober and his team of “Avengineers” are out to catch troublemakers with some ingenious inventions.

    December 18, 2019

YouTube phenom Mark Rober appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to announce REVENGE OF THE NERD (working title), an all-new series set to premiere in 2020 on Discovery. The show will be produced by Jimmy Kimmel’s production company, Kimmelot. Rober, a former NASA engineer is famous for his pop-science and DIY gadget videos – was also on Jimmy’s couch to celebrate his latest viral YouTube video featuring none-other than former Home Alone star, Macaulay Culkin. “Porch Pirate vs. Glitter Bomb Trap 2.0” has accrued approximately 18 million views as of this writing.

Rober is no stranger to Discovery, starring in 2019’s SHARK WEEK special SHARK ROBER and #TEAMTREES, with the goal to plant 20 million trees by 2020.

When speaking about his new series, REVENGE OF THE NERD (w/t), Rober said, “I grew up watching Discovery Channel so the thought of me having my own show is crazy for me to comprehend. As my YouTube channel has grown the past few years, I’ve had some BIG ideas that are too big to pull off on my own. Now, partnering with Discovery and Jimmy means it’s all fair game.”.

REVENGE OF THE NERD (w/t) is NOT your typical prank show. Rober and his team of “Avengineers” will attempt to right the world of wrongdoing. Executive producers Jimmy Kimmel and Mark Rober will scour the globe to catch troublemakers in the act – seeking revenge in the form of over-the-top and ingenious pranks that will all be captured by hidden cameras. But not everyone proves to be out for themselves – with hidden cameras also capturing kind and generous acts of good Samaritans. Whether it’s taking on bike bandits caught in the act or dog walkers who don’t clean up after their pets, Rober and his team of “Avengineers” will stop at nothing to take down the worst offenders, and bring justice by using the powers of ingenuity, science and engineering.

REVENGE OF THE NERD (w/t) premieres on Discovery in 2020. Follow Discovery on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for the latest updates.
